ABOUT ME

A former consumer magazine editor, medical copy editor, and proofreader for a number of New York advertising agencies, including J. Walter Thompson (JWT) and Bates USA, Ronald Micci is the author of numerous plays, sketches, sitcoms, screenplays, and novels.

          His plays have been presented at First Stage in LA and in New York at the Kraine Theatre, Theatre-Studio, Producers Club, Riant Theater, as well as in conjunction with the New York International Independent Film & Video Festival and the Turnip Theatre Company's 15-Minute Play Festival. They have also been performed in New Jersey at the Darress Theater, 1860 House (Montgomery Cultural Center), Lawrenceville Library, as well as in the main branch of the Canton, Ohio public library. In June 2015 his farce Biff Bang, American Hero was presented as part of the Phoenix Play Company’s 3rd Annual One-Act Playfest at Clockwork Rep in Oakville, Connecticut (see Youtube video).  Sappho’s Kiss was performed at the Time Square Art Center in February 2017.

          Acting editions of his one-act plays, Addie & Me and Night and the Proofreader, are available from Brooklyn Publishers (www.brookpub.com) and Heuer Publishing.  (Addie was a silver medal winner in the 2004 Wisconsin state high school forensics finals.)

        Three satirical novels (Coyote Horny, Apocalypse on Broadway, The Bayou Katt Murders) and a number of plays and screenplays, including Addie & Me: Soliloquies and Duets for Young Actors and High Concept Harry, are available on Amazon in Kindle and paperback format. 

        An avid flutist and lover of detective fiction, he has never sung backup for the Shirelles, or auditioned for the Olympics.
